Yesterday the government forces and Saudi- backed Jaysh Al-Islam militant’s made an agreement to swap in the area of Eastern Ghouta.
It is reported, that the swap took place in Douma, the largest stronghold of militants in the suburbs of Damascus. The sides agreed to release eight women who were held in prison.
The militants released women who were abducted in the area of Adra in Rif Dimashq in 2014. In its turn, the Syrian army released wives of high-ranking field commanders.
More exchanges are expected to take place in the coming weeks, as both the Syrian army and Jaysh Al-Islam attempt to ease tensions in the Eastern Ghouta region.
